GO FORWARD!
Part 1
Oh, the joy, peace, wisdom, and understanding that comes from reading and meditating God’s word. I truly love His word because it is a treasure trove of Scriptures that provide a pathway to godly choices in life. In addition, God shares how He deals with us (His people) during adversity in our lives when situations look impossible, IF we allow Him. So, it was with the Israelites in the Book of Exodus 14:13-15 (NKJV), when Almighty God declared these powerful words through Moses, 13 “And Moses said to the people, ‘DO NOT BE AFRAID. STAND STILL, AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD, WHICH HE WILL ACCOMPLISH FOR YOU TODAY. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14 THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU, AND YOU SHALL HOLD YOUR PEACE. 15 And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Why do you cry to Me?’ TELL THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL TO GO FORWARD.’” In the Book of Exodus, Pharaoh (Egypt’s ruler and an evil enemy of God’s people) regretted that he had allowed the Israelites, who had been his slaves, to leave his country. As a result, Pharaoh decided to pursue the Israelites, to take them back into bondage. But that was not God’s plan. Glory to God! As confirmed when God defended His people and challenged Pharaoh with these defining words that were repeated several times for clarity, “…LET MY PEOPLE GO, that they may serve Me (Exodus 7:16, 8:1, 20, 9:3 10:3).” Still Pharaoh refused to acknowledge the power of Almighty God. Notwithstanding the many acts he had seen God perform through Moses; Pharaoh did not yield to God’s word that was delivered by Moses numerous times and with consequences (Exodus Chapters 7-12). In spite of this situation that was at a boiling point, including the fear that was in the hearts of the Israelites, and the unsettling tone in Moses’ voice (verse 15), God’s plan was undeterred. God said to Moses with assurance, “… TELL THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL TO GO FORWARD.” Hallelujah to Almighty God, Who is never limited by the circumstances that confront us (Isaiah 55:11/Jeremiah 1:12).
Would you like to be saved and develop a relationship with God as your Heavenly Father? If you would, invite His Son, Jesus Christ, into your heart. Please pray this prayer: Dear God, please forgive me of my sins. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died on the cross, shed His blood, and rose from the grave for my salvation. I confess Jesus right now as my Savior and Lord. God fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can live a life that pleases You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen! If you prayed this prayer and meant it, based on Roman 10:9-10, you are saved. Welcome into God’s Family!
