GOD’S PLAN FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE—PART 2

Part 1 of God’s Plan For Spiritual Warfare allowed us to briefly examined 2Corinthians 10:3-5. God’s word revealed that we are in a war that requires God’s mighty weapons for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds. God’s word also revealed that we, Christians, must “refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself against the knowledge of God.”
In Ephesians 6:10-12 (Amplified Bible), the word of God says, “(10) In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. (11) Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. (12) For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Verse 10 says we have to be strong in the Lord. The Lord’s strength is far greater than ours. How do we become strong in the Lord? We trust, meditate and do God’s word! We are empowered through our union with Him. We have to put on God’s WHOLE ARMOR so that we can successfully stand against all the strategies and deceits of the devil. In spiritual warfare our war is with “principalities, against powers and rulers of darkness, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places”(NKJV). That’s why the whole armor of God is necessary for our success. Heavenly Father, thank You for preparing us for spiritual warfare through Your word.
